An account isn't required to play — "Play Now" always works, saved locally in your browser. Logging in is for players who want their save tied to an account instead.

Note: this doesn't touch any local save you already have in this browser — that's still separate for now.

How saves work here: playing "Play Now" without an account saves locally in your browser, exactly like always — up to three save slots, nothing to set up. Creating an account moves your saves to the cloud instead, tied to your account rather than one browser, so you can pick up the same game on another device or after clearing your browser data. If you log in on a browser that already has a local save, you'll be asked whether to import it before anything is touched — nothing is uploaded or erased without saying yes first.
